Procedure:
– Follow measuring guidelines on fuel additive container and
add fuel additive to fuel tank according to current fuel tank
level.
Note
♦
Use only fuel additives that correspond to the standard VW
507 53 A or VW 507 53 B.
♦
After adding fuel additive, it is very important to tell the cus‐
tomer to fill up the fuel tank.
♦
Use no more than one container per filling, even if the tank has
a capacity > 60 litres.

Tank flap unit: checking seal for damage
and correct seating, and checking water
drain for dirt
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Battery filler bottle - VAS 5045-
♦ Or: Measuring cup
Procedure:
– Check tank flap seal all around for damage, and ensure that it
is flush with body.
– Using battery filler bottle - VAS 5045- or a measuring cup, pour
water into water drain hose of tank flap unit and check that
water drains out near doors on right side of vehicle.
– If faults are found: Renew relevant component.
Note
♦
The tank flap seal must be flush with the vehicle body to seal
out water.
♦
When pouring in the water, ensure that no water enters the
tank opening.
