Updating Hardware Flash 

For Fibre Channel Thunderbolt products, your Adapter is shipped with the latest flash and drivers but these may need to be updated as 
new versions become available. Visit the ATTO website,

 

www.atto.com

, to download the latest drivers and flash bundle. 

Updating Flash 

Hardware flash memory may need to be updated as new 
versions become available. 

1.

 

Download and install the most recent version of the 

ConfigTool

 from the ATTO website. 

2.

 

Download the proper flash bundle (ThunderLink 
Adapter specific) from the ATTO website.

Go to www.

Click on 

Support

 and then click on 

Downloads.

Register or log in if previously registered. 

d.

 

Click on Thunderbolt ThunderLink Adapters in the 
left dialog. 

e.

 

Navigate to your ThunderLink Adapter model in the 
right dialog and click on it. 

f.

 

Scroll down to and click the desired flash bundle 
depending on the operating system.

A download window appears. Choose 

Save

After the download has completed, unzip the 
.zip/.dmg file based on Operating System.

Launch the 

ConfigTool

4.

 

Once you’ve extracted the firmware file to your desktop, 
open the ATTO ConfigTool network tree to 

localhost

 

and then to the Adapter that you want to update.

On the right hand side, navigate to the 

Flash

 tab - see 

Exhibit 8

. Here, you will be able to compare the date on 

the new firmware to the date of the current firmware.

Browse to and open the file that you extracted to the 
desktop, then click 

update

After you are sure that any attached storage is 
unmounted and disconnected, you can continue the 
update process. 

 The status bar will give you information about the 

updates in bold red text.

When the flash is complete, the ConfigTool application 
will request a system reboot. 

9.

 

Once the computer is restarted, open the ConfigTool 
again. Under the Adapter’s flash tab, you’ll see that the 
Adapter’s firmware date has been updated to reflect the 
date of the file that you downloaded. 

 Default settings are appropriate for most systems but 

you may change settings using the ATTO ConfigTool
