From the work platform control station
1- With the joystick in neutral position and trigger released, activate the Elevation mode by
placing the selector switch to the left (the Elevation mode indicator comes on). Within 5
seconds, actuate the enable trigger and pull the joystick back to elevate the aerial work
platform.
The speed of the movements is proportional to the course of the joystick.
2- Return the joystick to neutral (centre) position and release the trigger when the desired
height has been reached.
•
Stages during the elevation movement
1- From the transport position (stowed position), the elevation of the platform starts at slow
speed (engine at idle).
2- When the platform reaches the intermediate position, the elevation movement is stopped
(for approx. 2 seconds) : the load on the aerial work platform is weighed. See Section 5 -
Safety systems.
3- If not overloaded, the elevation operation resumes automatically at high speed (engine at
high rpm).
4- The movement stops automatically when the platform arrives at maximum height.
4.5.2 LOWERING
•
From the ground control station
1- Toggle the switch downwards to lower the work platform.
2- Release the switch when the platform reaches the desired level.
•
From the work platform control station
1- With the joystick in neutral position and trigger released, activate the Elevation mode by
placing the selector switch to the left (the Elevation mode indicator comes on). Within
5 seconds, actuate the enable trigger and push the joystick forward to lower the aerial
work platform.
The speed of the movement is proportional to the course of the joystick.
2- Return the joystick to neutral (centre) position and release the trigger when the desired
height has been reached or when the platform is fully lowered.
•
Steps during the lowering movement
1- While lowering, the movement of the platform is stopped at the intermediate position and
an audible alarm sounds to warn ground personnel.
2- The lowering movement automatically resumes at reduced speed after 3 seconds. The
audible alarm stops when the structure position sensor has been released but all the
structure elements are not resting on their stops: continue controlling the lowering
movement for 2 to 3 seconds after the audible alarm stops.
Between the intermediate position and the stowed position, the lowering movement is
systematically coupled with an audible warning alarm. The lowering movement begins only 3
seconds after being controlled.
