4.4. OUTRIGGERS
The machine is equipped with four outrigger cylinders allowing the chassis to be levelled before
elevating the work platform.
The outriggers can be controlled only when the platform is in stowed position.
The chassis can be levelled in either automatic or manual mode.
•
Automatic levelling.
1- Select the platform control station and start the engine.
2- Activate the automatic levelling mode.
➢
The green indicator flashes.
3- Within 5 seconds, actuate the enable trigger and push the joystick forward to extend the
outriggers:
➢
Engine speed increases.
➢
The outrigger position indicator comes on.
➢
The tilt indicator flashes.
4- Once the four outriggers are in contact with the ground:
➢
Engine speed decreases.
➢
The outrigger position indicator goes out.
➢
The levelling sequence begins.
5- Maintain the joystick pressed forward until:
➢
The green indicator remains on steady.
➢
The tilt indicator goes out.
➢
An audible signal (4 rapid beeps) sounds.
The movement of the outriggers stops automatically when the chassis is level.
6- To retract the outriggers, activate the automatic levelling mode, depress the enable trigger
and pull the joystick backwards. When the four outriggers are fully retracted:
➢
The outrigger position indicator goes out.
➢
An audible signal (4 rapid beeps) sounds.
➢
Engine speed decreases.
The movement of the outriggers stops automatically when they are completely retracted.
•
Automatic levelling failure
1- Loss of contact with the ground during the automatic levelling sequence.
If an outrigger is no longer in firm enough contact with the ground:
➢
The levelling sequence is interrupted.
➢
An acoustic alarm (continuous) is triggered while the outrigger extension is
actuated.
➢
In automatic mode, only outrigger retraction is authorised.
- Check the condition and resistance of the ground, or that there is nothing underneath the
outrigger pads.
- Move the machine to firmer ground as required.
