electrical equipment.
•
Use of an approved fall protection device.
•
Safety requirements associated with a special task or use of the machine.
2.1.2 WORKPLACE INSPECTION
•
The operator is to take all necessary measures to avoid all hazards in the work area prior
to machine opration:
- Check the work area for hazardous locations.
- Identify overhead hazards, electric lines, travelling cranes, cranes and other potential
overhead obstructions.
- Check the ground for holes, bumps, drop-offs, debris, concealed holes and other
potential hazards.
- Be sure that the ground conditions are able to support the load of the wheels or outrigger
pads.
•
The machine must only be operated in a well-ventilated area.
•
The machine must be operated with sufficient ambient lighting.
•
Do not operate or raise the platform if while on trucks, trailers, railway cars, floating
vessels or other mobile or non-stabilised structures.
•
Do not operate the machine in hazardous environments unless approved for that purpose
by ATN
•
DO NOT use the machine in the presence of electromagnetic fields (radar, high voltage
currents...). This could damage the machine electronic components.
2.2. TIPPING
HAZARDS
•
Never exceed the load capacity of the platform or deck extensions. Distribute the load evenly
on the deck of the aerial work platform.
•
Keep the loads inside the work platform. Never hang a load to any part of the platform. Never
place a load on the guardrails.
•
Ensure that the ground conditions are able to support the maximum load of the tyres or
outrigger pads.
•
Do not drive the machine on slopes or tilts exceeding the permitted values.
•
Do not raise the platform or drive with the platform up while on inclines, uneven or soft
surfaces. Ensure that the machine is positioned on firm and even surfaces before raising the
platform or driving with the platform raised.
•
Do not use the outriggers on soft, irregular or uneven surfaces. Always ensure that the
outrigger pads rest firmly and are flat on the ground before raising the platform.
•
Keep the machine a good distance away from holes, bumps, drop-offs, debris, concealed
holes and other potential hazards at ground level.
