1. Connect a water hose with an inside diameter of
10 mm to the nozzle of the drain tap and feed the other
end of the hose into the drain.
2. Open the drain tap and empty the water reservoir.
3. Open the test chamber door of the SUNTEST
®
XLS+,
remove the sample table; then check whether the water
tank is emptied completely.
NOTE – Recycling of the water:
To protect the measuring and control instruments against
dirt and deposits, contaminated water should not be re-
used.
6.5 Mounting the protective plate
To avoid water damage in the SUNTEST XLS+, the device
must be assembled with the enclosed protective plate:
1. Lift the protective plate

and press against the bottom
of the SUNTEST XLS+.
2. Tighten the four screws so that the protective plate
cannot slip down.
3. Make sure that the protective plate is touching the
bottom of the SUNTEST XLS+ evenly to prevent water
penetrating the areas outside the test chamber.
6.6 Inserting the sample table
Insert sample table for spraying in the test chamber
(fig. 6.1):
1. Insert sample table for spraying in the test chamber of
the SUNTEST XLS+ so that the sample table is sitting
on the left and right hand housing frame of the test
chamber

2. Place the BST sensor into the holder

of the sample
table.

Inserting the deflector plate BST sensor
The water sprayed on the BST sensor is drained off easier
by the enclosed deflector plate, and therefore supports
quickest drying of the sensor. The plate must be mounted
underneath the BST sensor for this
(fig. 6.2):
1. Insert the BST sensor

into the deflector plate

from the right and press down.
2. Place the whole unit (comprising BST sensor and de
-
flector plate) into the holder

of the spraying sample
table.
3. The two plate stripes may not touch the BST sensor;
there should be a gap of 0.5 – 1 mm.
