Start up
6.3 Filling the water tank
Manual filling (
fig. 6.0
):
1. Fasten a hose (ID = 19 mm) to the nozzle

for the
overflow and make sure that the ball valve
2
is closed.
2. Open the test chamber door of the SUNTEST
®
XLS+
and remove the sample table.
3. Fill the reservoir with approx. 40 l of purified water
(requirements: see below).
The purified water must have the following quality
characteristics:
• Conductivity
< 5 μS/cm
• pH value
6 – 8
• max. silicate content
< 1 ppm
Connection to an external water treatment system
(
fig. 6.0
):
1. Fasten a hose (ID = 19 mm) to the nozzle

for the
overflow (on the back of the device) and make sure
that the ball valve
2
is closed.
2. Connect the enclosed coupling bushing to the external
water system (hose ID = 10 mm) and then plug to the
opposite side of the quick coupling
3
on the back of
the device.
3. The reservoir is automatically filled with approx. 40 l
of purified water; the float valve interrupts the water
supply automatically.
NOTE – using aids
It is easier to fill up the water reservoir by using a funnel,
a hose or a combination of the two.
