The use of a circulaJon loop should be restrained. Such an installaJon
may disturb the straJficaJon inside the tank. This triggers more working
cycles for the heat pump and the potenJal use of the electric backup
heater.
Water supply

Before making the hydraulic connecBon, it is essenBal to clean the feed pipes thoroughly
to avoid the risk of metal or other parBcles entering the tank or the water heater.
Cold water piping should be provided with a 350 – 500 kPa Pressure LimiBng Valve at the
point of cold water connecBon to the water heater. In addiBon to the Pressure LimiBng
Valve, It is a requirement of AS 3500.4 & NZBC G12 that both a Stop Valve and a Non
Return Valve are installed upstream of the Product.
No parts (stop valve, pressure reducer, etc.) must be placed between the pressure
limiJng valve and the cold water inlet of the water heater, apart from a copper pipe.
Note: since limited water discharge from pressure limiBng valve is normal in the heaBng
operaBon, the discharge pipe needs be connected to external drain.
