2.7 

Removable/optional components

You may need to remove previously installed system components when installing or removing 

system devices. You may also need to install the optional components into the system. This 

section tells how to remove/install the following components:

1. 

System fans

2. 

Power supply module

3. 

ASUS PIKE RAID card (optional)

4. 

ASUS ASMB5-iKVM

Ensure that the system is turned off before removing any components. 

2.7.1 

System fans

To uninstall the system fans:
1. 

Disconnect the system fan cable 

from the fan connector on the HDD 

backplane.

2. 

Lift the fan and set it aside.

3. 

Repeat steps 1 to 2 to uninstall the 

other system fans.
