5.8. LFO Section
There are 3 fully featured LFO's in the SQ80 V with some very useful added functionality
like MIDI sync. There is a handy visualiser to see what the LFO waveform is doing too. Lets
take a look at the controls for LFO1.
•
Rate (mod param):
this sets the rate (in Hertz) that the LFO runs at when Rate
Type is set to Hertz. When Rate Type is set to Sync, Triplets or Dotted the rate is
set in divisions of bars. This parameter also has 2 modulation inputs.
•
Rate Type:
this can be set to Hertz or one of 3 synced modes that will lock to the
host clock.
•
Visualiser:
if you click on the top of the visualiser a drop down menu lets you pick
the LFO waveform from a choice of Triangle, Ramp, Square, Noise,, Sine, Saw.
•
Initial:
When delay is set above zero it sets the initial fade in level.
•
Delay:
This determines the time between the Initial level and Amp level. This
determines the rate of change of slope. Lower values give a longer delay and
higher values will result in a shorter Delay. The amount of time it takes for the
LFO to reach Amp level thus depends on both the rate and the level.
•
Amp (mod param):
This sets the level of the modulation the effects of which can
be observed on the visualiser.
•
Reset:
If this is on the LFO restarts every time a note is played.
•
Human:
When activated this adds slight randomness to the LFO parameters.
•
Poly:
When activated this puts the LFO into Poly mode meaning each voice has
its own LFO. When poly mode is used its more useful to have Reset on too so
each LFO restarts when a note is triggered.
