6.2.3. Combinate
A Combinate function is used to generate a modulation source based on the interactions of
two other modulation sources. The CZ V provides three of these mathematical marvels for
use as modulation sources.
The best way to understand how this works will be to provide a simple example. But first,
here's a list of the parameters:
Parameter
Description
Range
SOURCE
The parameter being affected
23 options
MOD
The parameter doing the affecting
23 options
TYPE
Decides the math process that will be
applied
5 options
AMT
Controls how much the Mod affects the
Source
0.00 - 1.00 in steps of 0.001 (with CNTL key
pressed)
6.2.3.1. Combinate Source and Mod options
The pulldown menus of sources and mods contain elements you’re probably already
familiar with: all the envelopes, LFOs, controllers, even the other Combinates.
Keyboard Follow
is unique to this menu, however:
• When used as a
source
, a key must be pressed for the mod to be output. Multiply
and Divide have no effect.
• When used as a
mod
, each time a key is played it holds the current value of the
source until the key is released.
