System Use
All activation of the Synergy Laser Light Source is controlled via the Synergy
ID
video system. There is no
way to activate the Synergy Laser Light Source on its own. To ensure that the Synergy Laser Light
System is only activated when required, the following conditions will automatically turn off the laser if it is
active or prevent activation of the laser if it is not active:
•
The control cable between the Synergy Laser Light System and the Synergy
ID
console is
disconnected.
•
The Synergy
ID
console is powered off.
•
Any camera head other than the Synergy NIR camera head [AR-3210-0033] is connected to the
Synergy
ID
console.
•
The Synergy
ID
LED light engine is powered off.
•
The Synergy
ID
system fluorescence imaging mode is not active.
•
The Synergy
ID
system is not in an active case.
When a Synergy NIR camera head is used with the Synergy
ID
system, a surgeon can activate the
fluorescence mode manually via the camera head buttons or the staff can manually activate the
fluorescence mode on behalf of the surgeon via the Synergy documentation tablet. Once fluorescence
mode is active, then the Synergy
ID
system will automatically activate the laser via the control cable. There
is no user action needed to power on the laser. When the fluorescence mode is exited, the LED light is
powered off, or the case is ended on the Synergy
ID
system, the laser is automatically turned off.
