Cockpit Remote Switch 9-Pin Plug Installation
1)
Insert the wiring pins into the Molex 9-pin cockpit remote switch plug. Refer to Figure 20 Typical 2-Wire
Installation for Unshielded Harness on page 46, Figure 21 Typical 2-Wire Installation for Shielded Harness on
page 47, Figure 22 Typical 5-Wire Installations for Metal Airframes on page 48, and Figure 23 Typical 5-Wire
Installations for Composite Airframes on page 49.
NOTE:
Terminal pins may be removed from the plug using Molex extraction tool 11030002 or
equivalent.
E.
Antenna Connection
1)
Install the coax cable to the antenna. A custom length coax cable, up to 20 feet (6 m), may be fabricated if the
cable provided is not adequate. ACR suggests using RG-142 or RG-400 coax cable.
F.
Cockpit Remote Switch Power Connection
1)
For 5-wire remote switch installations, connect the appropriate (14V or 28V) remote switch power wire to the
battery using a 1/2 Amp in-line, slow-blow fuse or circuit breaker; or an alternate un-switched source (e.g.,
aircraft clock circuitry). Splicing guidelines can be found in AC 43.13-1, § 13.
NOTE:
The power source is required only for the remote switch LED and has no effect on switch
functions. The switch will control the ELT with or without power.
