DC Power Cable Termination
Use lugs that accommodate large gauge wires for up to 60 AMPs DC (6 AWG) when connecting
to the PEM.
To minimize shorting of the terminals, the lugs must be insulated according to the following.

Connecting the DC Cables to the AXP640
In a redundant configuration, each PEM must be connected to a separate DC power source.
Power is introduced to each PEM through the terminal blocks on the rear of the chassis (power
input cable and return cable). The lugs provide secure contact for the cable and prevent the
power cables from rotating. A plastic housing covers the power feeds and returns. For more

Heat shrink should be placed as close to the hole as possible (0.15") apart.
To cable a DC system, read all cautions and warnings, properly ground the equipment by
following the procedure in

procedure assumes that the PEMs are pre-installed in the shelf.
