3.3 Power
The PCIE-7207 card obtains power from two sources, one from the ATX style power connector
(12V) and the other from the PCIe socket (3.3V).
3.4 Gigabit Ethernet
Each MCP is connected to an Intel i218 Gigabit Ethernet PHY over the dedicated PCIe x1
channel 4. This channel acts as a Media Dependent Interface (MDI) to the PHY, connecting the
internal digital Media Access Control (MAC) inside the PCH to the external analog PHY. The PHY
connects to the magnetics on board and then to the Intel i350 Quad Gigabit Ethernet
controller. The Quad Gigabit Ethernet controller then connects over the gold fingers of the
PCIe card to the server through the x4 PCIe Gen2 bus.
3.5 DDR3 1600 Memory
The memory is designed as a dual channel, interleaved 4GB per channel, dual chip/dual rank
DDR3-1600 Samsung or Micron dual source memory. The memory reference is generated
from the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) memory chip. The SPD memory chip is a combination of
the Samsung or Micron Memory parameters.
3.6 Temperature Sensors
The temperature sensors are built into each MCP. Each core has its own temperature sensor,
along with a temperature sensor for the GFX and Uncore. There are nine discrete temperature
sensors onboard: one temperature sensor integrated into each SPD device and the other
temperature sensor integrated into the FRU EEPROM device, physically located near MCP1.
Currently, the PCIE-7207-4 card has the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller
(iDRAC) FRU depopulated.
