ATCA-7490 Declassification Procedure
B.1
ATCA-7490 Non-Volatile Memory Statement
This section identifies the type, purpose, and procedures to declassify (erase or reinitialize) the
non-volatile memory devices to be found on the ATCA-7490 processor card. Users of the
procedure are cautioned to verify that the information provided is accurate for its intended
use. The contents of the nonvolatile memory devices may change over time and this document
may not reflect those changes. Users are further cautioned to read this entire document
carefully before proceeding with declassification; it is possible to render the ATCA-7490
inoperable through inadvertent errors or careless entry of the commands provided. Remaining
memory devices on the board are either not accessible by the user or is not persistent after the
board is powered down.

*These flash devices require use of Artesyn software tools to write and update flash/EEPROM. This
tool performs a checksum on the vendor provided unclassified update files in order to validate
format/content. Therefore, the ability to compromise these areas with classified data is not possible
without reverse engineering the Artesyn proprietary checksum validation algorithm.
