Firmware Upgrade Tool

The primary update mechanism for the ATCA-7490 blade is the FCU tool, which is delivered 
with the BBS package for the blade. However, the ATCA-7490 blade family also supports 
upgrades with the 

ipmitool

. Artesyn recommends to use the Pigeon Point System modified 

ipmitool 1.8.13-pps2

 or later versions.

9.2.3.1

Installing ipmitool

To install 

ipmitool 1.8.13-pps2

, perform the following steps:

Procedure

1. Get the Pigeon Point System 

ipmitool

 from the package (

ipmitool-1.8.13-pps-

2.tgz

).

2. Extract the 

ipmitool-1.8.13-pps-2.tgz

 file.

prompt>

tar -xzvf ipmitool-1.8.13-pps-2.tgz

3. Go to the directory where 

ipmitool

 is extracted.

prompt>

cd <path>/Ipmitool-1.8.13-pps-2

4. Build the 

ipmitool

.

prompt>

./configure && make && make install

If 

ipmitool 1.8.13-pps2

 is already installed along with the BBS package, the following 

installation is not needed.
