5.3.3.1.2 T1 - Host Server Resets in BIOS
The PCIE-7210-1 card is qualified on third party RMS like Dell R730 and Dell R430 with CentOS
7.X. These servers will throw an error in BIOS and would continuously reset till the card is
configured. This sequence happens till the Quark SoC is up and configures the PEX9716
appropriately. Once PEX is configured the host transits to sequence T3.
5.3.3.2 Power Down Sequence
In fabric mode, the Skylake-H and Host subsystems are dependent on Quark subsystems.
Hence the PLX manager (Quark) should always be running as along as any host OS is running.
If this dependency is not met, then Linux Kernel on server CPU/Skylake-H will crash/panic. As a
consequence the entire system will become unuseable and would need a complete power
cycle. In order to avoid this, all host OSes should be powered off before powering off the Quark
CPU. However, host server provides power to card’s (Quark) which means host server should
be powered off at the end.
Following table describes the power down timing sequence.

In HP RMS, the host server hangs at T1. Customers can work with server vendors
to change the BIOS accordingly.

Hence it is recommended that customers use the validated RMS.
