Check to ensure that
ballast is switched off
(mains switch in position
0
; see picture 2 on
page 24).

Nominal EB wattage
must match nominal
lamp power.

Ensure that a func-
tional lamp is installed in
lamphead. Immediately
replace all lamps with
any visible damage or
thermal deformation.

Connect lamphead
to ballast, using original
ARRI cables (lamp con-
nector 400 W).

Connect ballast to a
suitable mains outlet
(see table on page 73).

Lamphead is
switched on and off
from ballast. Switch on
lamphead by pushing
mains switch of ballast
into position

LED
POWER
will illumi-
nate.

Lamp will strike
approx. 2 to 5 seconds
later. After successful
ignition, yellow LED
LAMP
on ballast will
turn on.
If lamp does not strike,
see trouble shooting
guide on page 83.

Adequate earth
protection is indicated
by green LED
PE
. If this
LED does not light up
after power on,
sepa-
rate ballast from mains
immediately
(pull mains
plug carefully!). Check
earth protection or use a
functional outlet.

Red LED
TEMP
indi-
cates that ballast turned
off due to overheating.
After ballast has cooled
down (5 to 15 minutes),
it will automatically
re-strike lamp. Red LED
TEMP
, however, will
stay lit until ballast is
switched off or discon-
nected from mains for at
least 15 seconds.

LED
REMOTE
is only
used on ballasts with
remote control option.

After lamp has
reached its operating
temperature (after
approx. 6 minutes), its
intensity can be
adjusted in the range of
50 to 100% by turning
the dimming potentio-
meter.
When dimming potenti-
ometer is fully turned to
the left, intensity is set to
‘minimum’. Turning dim-
ming potentiometer to
the right (in clockwise
direction) will increase
intensity until ‘maximum’
is reached at the right
stop.

Caution: Danger of
over-heating!
Never
block ventilation slots
of EBs.
