Assisted Bathing with Transfer Chair
To the
Malibu/Sovereign
bathtub (15 steps)
1 Close the drain plug by turning the pop-up drain control
knob. See Fig. 1
2 Fill the
Malibu/Sovereign
bathtub with water by pushing the
fill button. Auto fill function will shut off the water when it
reaches the pre-fill level. See Fig. 2
Adjust the temperature, if needed. Check the
Malibu/
Sovereign
bathtub water temperature by hand without
gloves before letting the patient into the bathtub.

4 Transfer /Position the seated patient on the transfer chair
with the transfer chassis next to the lifting arm. See Fig. 4
• If a patient is being positioned on an attached or
unattached transfer chair, using a standing and
raising aid
or wheelchair, then see its corresponding
IFU.
• If a patient is being positioned on an already
attached transfer chair, then continue on step 11.

WARNING
To avoid falling, make sure that the patient is positioned
correctly and that the safety belt is being used, properly
fastened and tightened, and that the armrests are folded
forward.
WARNING
To avoid falling during patient transfer, always make
sure that the brakes on the equipment receiving the
patient are applied.

WARNING
To prevent scalding, always check the water
temperature with your naked hand before directing
the water on the patient. Do not use gloves as it may
insulate to the extent that the water temperature can
be misjudged. Point the flow of the water away from
the patient.
