Clearance

The bagger baskets extend beyond the end of the unit.

Ensure that adequate clearance is provided
between both the rear tail swing of bagger and
the front swing of the unit to avoid injury to
personnel or damage to nearby objects.

To trim around objects, keep them on the left side
of the unit.

Lawn Conditions

When operating your grass catcher on a lawn where
grass and leaf bagging equipment has not been used,
you are picking up thatch and debris that has
accumulated for long periods of time. As a result, the
amount collected and the total time of operation may
be greater than you will experience with regular use of
your grass catcher.

NOTE:

It may be necessary to overlap width of cut to

suit your conditions.

Bagger works best when bagging dry grass.  Operate
from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. when morning dampness has
left, but before evening dew.

Mower pan and bagger parts will require more frequent
cleaning if mowing high moisture content grasses.
Grass clippings collected under these conditions tend
to be sticky and adhere to the walls of the flow path
causing clogging.

Lush, extra heavy, tall or wet grass may require two
cutting passes.  First, cut with mower set at its highest
cutting height (maximum cutting height from ground
surface).  Then recut grass at a lower setting.  Overlap
width of cut to suit your conditions.

Clearing A Clog

To clear a clog, clean all debris from:

Upper Boot

Bagger Tube

Lower Boot

Replace any parts removed before restart.

Bagger Performance

For best bagger performance, mower deck, boots and
tube should be clean and free of debris build-up.

If the bagger fails to pick up cut grass or leaves, it is an
indication that clogging has occurred or that the bagger
baskets are full.

If the bagger fails to pick up:

1. Stop the unit’s forward movement and allow

mower to run, clearing any clog.

2. Resume operation.

3. If mower still does not pick up, stop unit and

empty baskets (See Basket Removal) or clear
clog by hand.

Emptying Baskets

To remove the bagger baskets and plastic trash bags
when full:

Disengage blades, shift into neutral, engage the
parking brake and stop the engine.

Unhook and raise cover.

Remove one basket at a time by grasping
container and pulling toward the rear, off of the
tube rails.

With the basket resting on the ground, close and
secure the top of the plastic lawn bag.

CAUTION:

SWEEP OF BAGGER may result

in minor or moderate injury, unit or property
damage. ALWAYS be aware of maximum
sweep of bagger when turning.  ALWAYS
allow adequate clearance between bagger,
personnel, and other objects when turning.

and place wires where they cannot come in
contact with plugs.
