5.2 Starting the App

device.

5.2.1 Permissions
The first time you start the app, it will ask you for up to 3 access permissions (depending on
your device type and operating system):
1. Position (optional)
When entering the data for a pulling test, the app offers the possibility to determine the
position of the examined tree via the GPS of your mobile device.
The prerequisite for this is your permission to use the positioning system.
2. Camera (optional)
Data acquisition for a pulling test necessarily includes the taking of a canopy projection
photograph of the tree to be examined. It is also recommended to document the
measurement setup with pictures. The app offers you the possibility to take these
photos directly and add them automatically to the project data.
Prerequisite for this is your permission to use the camera.
3. Internal memory (mandatory)
The project data entered by hand as well as the measurement data of a pulling test
must be stored on the internal memory of your mobile device.
This requires your permission to use the memory for reading and writing.
If you deny this, the app cannot work and terminates automatically.
