It is used in the door open warning system. It switches on and off the lights.
Remove the magnet cover as illustrated in Picture 1 by using a flat-tipped screwdriver.
Pull and remove the magnet shown in Picture 2.
The magnet located in the fridge and freezer door’s upper covers interacts with the
reed switch board on the upper hinge covers.
