[ST2] digital outputs designed as low-side switches
The digital outputs of [ST2] are internally implemented in the VECTOPOWER
as low-side switches
without pull-up and without a transil diode.
The voltage supply takes place via the connected, switched consumers. It must not be floating. For
this reason, the voltage supply is connected to U
B
or the appropriate pin.
Appropriate pins at [ST2] are Di at pin 2 or Di at pin 6, depending on the
selected digital output.

[ST2] and [ST4] connections for an external precharging circuit for
VECTOPOWER VP5000-DC/DC60
The VECTOPOWER VP5000-DC/DC60 has no integrated precharging circuit. An external
precharging circuit is usually required for operation as a boost converter. Check whether a
precharging circuit is necessary for your application.
Function: external precharging circuit at []
Process: When the VECTOPOWER is de-energized, the precharging contactor (A) and the main
contactor (B) are open. When voltage is applied, the precharging contactor (A) closes and the
main contactor (B) remains open. The system is slowly charged via the precharging resistor. When
charging is complete, the main contactor (B) closes and the precharging contactor (A) opens.
During operation, the main contactor (B) is closed and the precharging contactor (A) is open.
