Amplifier Fault Diagnostic Mode
The amplifier fault diagnostic mode is a tool that can be used to determine the cause of an amplifier module
fault condition. If an amplifier fault is detected while this mode is enabled, the RF Output will remain enabled
allowing for additional troubleshooting steps (see the
Troubleshooting
section of this manual for more
information).
NOTE: This mode SHOULD NOT be enabled unless directed to by a customer service representative of AR/RF
Microwave Instrumentation. Severe damage to the faulting module can occur if the RF is not disabled.
The amplifier fault diagnostic mode is enabled by navigating to the GPIB address screen (User, I/O, GPIB
Address) and entering the password 3, 27, 8, 10 (See figure below). The current GPIB address setting will not
be lost during this process unless the Back button is pressed before the password is successfully entered. Once
the password is correctly entered, the main window title bar color will change from orange to blue to indicate
this mode is active.
To disable this mode, remove AC power from the amplifier. When AC power is restored, the amplifier will be
power on in the Normal state.
