4.11. Probe Setup (applicable to logging versions only)

Prior to deployment of any LeveLine

®

 Logger Probe, it is essential to set up your desired

logging rate, logging start time and duration. 

If you do not set the LeveLine

®

 Logger up,

it will not log any data!

 

LeveLine

®

 Probes can be setup and deployed entirely from the Meter. Each time a setup

command is sent to the Probe from the Meter, an 'ACTION SUCCESSFUL' or 'ACTION
FAILED' message will be displayed. If you receive repeated 'ACTION FAILED' messages,
please refer to the troubleshooting section at the end of this manual. If you do not have a
Probe connected to your Meter, you will not be able to access any of these screens.

4.11.1. Probe Clock Setup 

The clock in the Probe is setup by synchronising it to the clock in the meter. To setup the
Probe's clock, first ensure the Meter's clock is correctly set. See section 

4.9.2

When you are certain the Meter's clock is correctly set, press the 

MENU

 key to get to the

Main Menu, then choose 

Probe & Meter Setup

 followed by 

Sync Probe Clock.

[OK] = Sync to Meter

On entry to this screen, the Probe's current time and date will be displayed. To synchronise
the clock in the Probe with the Meter's clock, press the [OK] key.  After successful setup of
the Probe's clock, the  'ACTION SUCCESSFUL' message will be displayed.  

Use the [ESC] key to leave this page after transfer. If you press the [ESC] key before
pressing [OK], your revised settings will not be transferred to the Logger.

4.11.2. Logging Rate Setup

To set up the Probe's logging rate (time interval between logged points), press the 

MENU

key to get to the Main Menu, then choose  

Probe Deployment

  followed by  

Set Rate &

Events.

 The Probe Logging Rate screen will be displayed. 

 Setup Logging Rate
      [HHH:MM:SS.S]

 Rate:000:10:00.0

  Setup Events

The format for the logging rate is indicated on the second line of the display. The example
above shows a logging rate (time interval) of 10 minutes. 

The logging rate can now be adjusted using the arrow keys. Press the right arrow key to
move the cursor to the hours [HHH] setting the use the up/down arrow keys to adjust the
value. When hours have been set, move the cursor to the minutes value by pressing the
right arrow key. Follow this procedure to set seconds and fractions of seconds.
