Adding Media to the Reactor (con.)
Inlet
Fitting
For media designed to be fully fluidized, the reactor should be filled
no more than two-thirds full to allow the media room to move around.
With heavy or fine media, you may need to add less.
Cover the opening of the inlet pipe to block media from falling in prior to pouring your chosen
media into the reactor chamber.
Slide the sponge and upper media plates onto the central inlet pipe
until it touches the stopper. It may fit snugly, so please use caution
when sliding it on.
Replace the reactor lid, pressing down firmly onto its center and locking the water inlet pipe into the
fitting on the underside of the lid. Turn the lid clockwise to close. Gently tighten the thumbscrews
in a criss-cross pattern to evenly secure the lid. CAUTION: Do not overtighten screws.
