CHANGING TRANSMISSION OIL

Have engine oil changed at an  

aprilia

Authorised dealer.

Carefully read page  79 (LUBRICANT
CHART), page  39 (MAINTENANCE) and
page  24 (LUBRICANTS).

NOTE 

Position the vehicle on firm and

flat ground.

u

Position the vehicle on the centre stand.

WARNING

The engine and the components of the
exhaust system become very hot and
remain hot for some time after the engine
has been stopped. Before handling these
components, wear insulating gloves or
wait until the engine and the exhaust
system have cooled down.

u

Stop the engine and let it cool down, in
order to allow the oil to flow into the oil pan
and to cool down.

WARNING

Make sure not to spill oil on the rear
brake disc while changing oil.

u

Unscrew and extract the plug/dipstick
(1).

u

Release and remove the transmission
fluid drain screw (2).

u

Let all transmission oil drain out. Collect
it in a container with adequate capacity.

u

Fit and tighten the transmission fluid
drain screw (2).

u

Fill about 150 cc 

 

, 250 cc 

of the specified into the transmission.

u

Screw and tighten the plug/dipstick (1).

u

Check transmission oil level using the
dipstick (1) and top up as required
without exceeding the “

MAX

” mark.

For top-ups and oil changes, use the oil
specified in the LUBRICANT CHART.
Always use new oil.
