Bobbin Thread Cutter – Millie & Millie 30
Routine Cleaning & Adjustments
Clearing Lint Build-Up from Blades
Tools needed:
#2 Phillips Screwdriver – short handle
Flat Blade Screwdriver – small tip
Air Compressor or Canned Air
Time to complete:
Approximately 5 minutes
The most common reason for thread cutter malfunction is lint build-up between the cutter blades. Use compressed
air to blow lint out from between the cutter blades – lint can get caught between the blades or between the wave
washers and affect the cutting ability of the blades.
To access the cutter blades, you will need to move the needle plate off to
the side of the machine. Remove the two screws closest to the front of
the machine, and the left rear screw. Loosen the right rear screw, but do
not remove it.
Move the needle plate off the right side of the machine, and tighten
the screw to hold the plate off to the side of the machine. This
process will avoid possibly reinstalling the plate backwards later on.
