4.6.2 Energy Test
This page can be accessed from
Load Values
screen by
F1
followed by
F2
.
Configuration of Energy tests is in Test Settings menu, where mode (Time or Energy), amount of time
/ energy and energy type (Active, Reactive, Apparent) is specified.
Test is initialized by pressing
F1
key when device shows message Enter counter #1 which requests
user to enter initial state of counter of the meter under test.
Next press of
F1
key starts the actual energy measurement.
Test is automatically finished when defined time duration is reached (in Time mode) or defined energy
amount is reached (in Energy mode). Test can be also anytime terminated by
F1
key.
After automatic finishing or manual termination of the test device shows message Enter counter #2 or
∆E which requests user to enter final state of counter of the meter under test or directly the difference
∆E.
Error of the test is evaluated using entered values and amount of energy dosed to meter under test.
Note:
Before first initialization
(right after Energy test screen is opened)
it is recommended to generate
voltage (only)
to have such meter under power. This is useful especially for static/electronic meters so
user is capable of performing initial register reading. Current should be injected (generated) only after
second press of
F1
key. This will ensure that the whole energy will be accumulated correctly during the
Energy Test. It is also very
important to mark the final state of counter (#2) right after the Energy
test is completed
(or cease current generation if possible) yet before this test is terminated.
COUNTERS Section:
This section is related to the values obtained from meter. Meter connected to the network can measure
quantities via transformer. In such case meter’s parameters can be defined for transformer’s secondary
side (Sec.) or calculated to the primary side (Prim.).
Operator enters initial state of meter counter (
Counter #1
) before test and final state of meter counter
(
Counter #2
) after test. Device automatically calculates difference (
ΔE
) and evaluates test error. It is
also possible to define directly the difference (
ΔE
).
Energy measurement Section:
This section is related to the energy measurement obtained by device. CT (Current) and VT (Voltage)
ratios are acquired from database. In this window they can be changed (they turn red). By default, both
Prim. / Sec. switches are set to the same value which is associated to database item.
These switches along with CT / VT ratios enable to set where the meter is connected (during
measurement) and where the device measures energy.
Dial Test runs always simultaneously with Maximum Demand Test which has to last longer than Dial
Test. The reason lies in principle of Dial Test evaluation. This feature offers also evaluation of these
two tests concurrently.
Option All energies are disabled by default. The reason is that the 4Quadr. method evaluates energy
with a sign. When the attribute of the load change, it can also be deducted if the energy is negative.
DIAL TEST treats the measurement with pulses that cannot be counted down. The result can be a big
difference between what is measured by energy register and DIAL TEST. To avoid this, 4Quadr.
method does not allow to turn on All energies. All energies are turned on only by the Algo1-4 method.
These methods always add energy in absolute numbers, so this problem does not occur.
