Chapter 5

Utilities

Running the Cycle Performance Test

Use this test to verify that the sample block(s) are heating and cooling properly and
that the PCR cycling function operates properly.

Required

Materials

The appropriate equipment for your instrument:

• Veriti 96-Well

Thermal Isolation Frame

Procedure

This test takes 10 minutes to complete.

1. Place the reaction plate or thermal isolation frame in the instrument.

2. In the Main Menu screen, touch

Tools Menu

3. In the Tools Menu screen, touch

Run

Cycle Performance Test

4. Follow the instructions on the screen to perform the test. The results are

displayed at the end of the test.

5. At the end of the test, touch:

•

Print

to print the results.

•

Save

to save the results to the USB drive.

The results are saved to the file CyclePEvents.txt.

6. If the test fails, repeat the procedure. Ensure that the heated cover is closed.

7. If the test fails again, contact Applied Biosystems Technical Support.
