Chapter 5. Configure the chassis

The
Telnet
menu determines Telnet availability.
Telnet provides a channel you can use to communicate with the chassis, but it does not
provide encryption. If you require encryption for security, use SSH.
Configuration > SSH
To access the
SSH
menu, press
DOWN
to scroll through the sub-menus on the
Config
Menu
until the
SSH
menu is selected, then press
ENTER.
The following screen is
displayed:
The SSH configuration menu specifies the type of log-ins allowed.
Configuration > Restart Services
To access the
Restart Services
menu, press
DOWN
to scroll through the sub-menus on
the Config Menu until the
Restart Services
menu is selected, then press
ENTER.
The

Enabled
Users can access the switch over the network using CLI,
APCON’s Telnet interface.
Disabled
(Default) CLI is not available over the network. User must use
other methods to access the switch.

Enabled
Allows SSH (secure) log-ins.
Disabled
(Default) Does not allow SSH (secure)
log-ins.
NOTE
SSH provides a channel you can use to encrypt communications with the chassis. If
you do not require the security of encryption, consider using unsecured Telnet
connections.
