Chapter 4. Installation and set up
Install blades and transceivers
The ACI-3144-XR chassis typically ships with all blades and transceivers installed. If not
installed or if you need to move them, see

Connect power to the chassis
You can order the ACI-3144-XR chassis with either AC or DC power supplies. See
on page 18 for the number of power supplies available and
shipped as a minimum.
Connect AC power
Each AC power supply uses a standard power cord that plugs into a standard circuit outlet. See
for a list of power cords available from APCON.

To prepare for an AC power connection:
• When using AC power, make sure there is enough power going into the rack to
support all the units you plan to install.
• All power strips and wall outlets must be grounded.

To turn ON the chassis using AC power:
1. Attach a power cord to each power supply on the back of the unit.
2. Connect the power cords to a wall socket or power strip.
NOTE
There is no ON/OFF switch on the chassis; instead, after you insert a power cord
and connect it to the electrical supply, the chassis powers up automatically.
