VLAN configuration
A V irtual L AN ( VLAN) is a lo gical net work grouping t hat l imits t he br oadcast d omain,
which would allow you to isolate network traffic, so only the members of the same VLAN
will receive traffic from the ones of the same VLAN. Basically, creating a V LAN from a
switch is lo gically e quivalent of r econnecting a g roup of network dev ices t o ano ther
Layer 2 s witch. However, all the network devices are still plugged into the same switch
physically.
The switch supports
Port-based
and
802.1Q
(tagged-based) VLAN. The de fault
configuration of VLAN operation mode is “
Disable
”.

Packets c an g o a mong onl y m embers o f t he s ame V LAN g roup. N ote al l unselected
ports are treated as belonging to another single VLAN. If the port-based VLAN enabled,
the VLAN-tagging is ignored.
In order for an end station to send packets to different VLAN groups, it itself has to be
either capable of tagging packets it sends with VLAN tags or attached to a VLAN-aware
bridge that is capable of classifying and tagging the packet with different VLAN ID based
