5.1 List of Setting Items
The following table items can be set using the PPG.

Item Description
Reference CLK Selects the clock to be used from the following items:
Internal 10MHz:
Use the internal clock based on the internal 10 MHz transmitter
Ext 10MHz In:
Use the external clock input from the External 10 MHz Input
connector
Ext 1/16 In:
Use the external clock input from the Ext Clk In connector
Ch1: (Only available for Ch2) Use the clock synchronized with the Ch1
clock
Apply Synchronizes the external clock with the internal pattern generation
circuit if the Reference CLK is set to Ext 1/16 In.
Check that the Reference CLK status display is yellow after inputting
the external clock before touching the button.
Data/XData Sets the connector signal output On/Off.
Bit Rate Sets the bit rate when Bit Rate Standard is set to Variable.
Bit Rate Standard Selects the communication specifications applying to the bit rate.
Bit Rate Offset Changes bit rate in range of –100 to +100 ppm corresponding to value
set at Bit Rate
Divide Ratio Indicates the ratio between the frequency of the internal frequency
synthesizer and the bit rate.
The button appears allowing the divide ratio to be set when Reference
CLK has been set to [Ext 1/16 In].
Amplitude Sets the amplitude voltage of the signal to be output from the Data Out
and
Data
Out connectors.
External Attenuator Factor Inputs attenuation amount when attenuator inserted at connector
Test Pattern
Selects the pattern from PRBS or Programmable Pattern.
Sets the signal level of the Data connector responding to Pattern 1.
POS/NEG Sets the signal level of the Data connector responding to Pattern 1.
Programmable Pattern Selects the pattern file name when Test Pattern is set to Programmable
Pattern. The file name selected is displayed.
Sync Output Selects the signal output to the Sync Output connector.
Error Addition Sets whether to add bit errors to the test pattern.
Error Addition—Mode Sets whether to insert bit error continuously, or insert one by one by
touching [Insert Error].
Error Addition—Rate Sets the rate at which bit errors are generated when the Error Addition
mode is Repeat.
Insert Error Inserts one bit error to the pattern when the Error Addition mode is
Single.
Output Display Displays the data signal output status.
