CONNECTING THE PCTEL MX SCANNER 

1.  To install the device drivers the user must have administrative rights to its PC, and the 

Take 

ownership of files or other objects

 policy has to be enabled for this user on this PC. 

2.  Browse to folder 

seegull mx driver\MX winusb driver

. For 32-bit operating system run 

DPInst.exe from “install x86” folder and for 64-bit operating system run DPInst.exe from 

“install x64” folder. 

3.  The 

PCTEL USB Device Installer 

window will appear. Click 

Next

. 

4.  If a Windows Security message appears, click 

Install

. 

5.  Click 

Finish

 in the installation completed window. 

6.  Remove the yellow plastic caps from the antenna, power and GPS connectors in the front 

panel.  

 

7.  Connect the power cable to the PWR connector in the front panel. Connect the other end of 

the cable to a cigarette lighter socket. Turn the switch to 

On

 position. The Status indicator in 

the front panel will light up.
