4 Adjustments
4.1 Adjusting the hitch position
The mixer's tongue is normally adjusted for a tractor drawbar that is 432 mm (17 in.) from the
ground (see Figure 20-B) for the A280 and A380 models, and 483 mm (19 in.) from the ground for
the A520, A700, A950 and A1230 models.
If the tongue (see Figure 20-A) and the tractor drawbar (see Figure 20-B) differ in height by more
than 50 mm (2 in.) for the A700 model or 75 mm (3 in.) for the A280, A380 and A520 models, you will
need to adjust the height of the mixer's tongue.
NOTE:
Take the measurements on a level surface when the mixer
is empty and uncoupled.
Figure 20 — Measurements for Hitching
The tongue (A) can be adjusted to different heights, depending on the model:
l
A280, A380 and A520: 250–1,075 mm (10–42 in.)
l
A700, A950 and A1230: 350, 450, 550 or 650 mm (14, 18, 22 or 26 in.)
Before hitching the machine, ensure that the
tractor's front axle is sufficiently weighted. The
load on the front axle must be at least 20% of the
empty weight of the tractor.
Place ballast weights on the supports provided in
accordance
with
the
tractor
manufacturer’s
instructions.
