4.8 Adjusting the bale retaining support
The retaining support prevents the bales from falling on the loading arm during the loading process.
It must be adjusted based on the diameter of the bales being loaded.
To adjust the retaining support based on the diameter of the bales (Table 12):
1. Remove the quick-release pins (A) that secure the auxiliary support (B).
2. Raise the auxiliary support.
3. Put the pins back in to secure the auxiliary support.
4. If needed, loosen the screw knobs (C).
5. Slide the retaining support all the way out so it is fully extended.
6. Tighten the screw knobs to hold the support in place.
Ensure that the inner fork of the arm has been
adjusted to the diameter of the bales being loaded
(see "Adjusting the forks" on page 45). If the fork
is not adjusted properly, it could collide with the
support.
