Operation Guide – Grain bagger GB-series
Anderson Group
2.1.4 Basic Safety Guidelines
Never climb on, or let others climb on, the
hopper or on the machine when in operation.
Climbing on the machine may lead to serious
injuries and even death. It is one of the
primary causes of accidents related to its use.
Before starting the bagger:
l
Comply with the stickers and warnings affixed to your bagger.
l
Make sure you know how to perform an emergency stop of the bagger.
l
Ensure that all controls are in neutral before starting the tractor’s motor.
l
Remove the residue stuck or accumulated in the moving parts so they can move freely at all
times.
l
Immediately replace any defective or worn parts.
NOTE:
Please refer to chapter 5 Maintenance and tunings for
a full description of the required maintenance and
configuration.
While you operate the bagger:
l
Keep hands and feet away from moving parts : transmission shaft, loading screw, com-
pression screw, belts, etc.
l
Wear protective clothing. Avoid scarves and loose clothing (pants, shirts, or coats) that may
easily get stuck in the equipment’s moving parts.
l
Wear suitable hearing protection. This will reduce the risk of partial or total hearing loss
caused by continuous exposure to the bagger’s and tractor's noise.
l
Use an approved mask for working in dusty conditions.
l
If you are working in the evening or at night, ensure that the lighting is sufficient to operate in
complete safety.
l
Ensure you have a working extinguisher available.
l
Always leave the protective screens and other safety devices in place. If these protections
and safety devices have been removed or damaged, do not use your bagger until the situation
has been corrected.
Before performing repairs or maintenance on the bagger:
l
Deactivate the power takeoff and stop the tractor engine.
l
Remove the tractor’s ignition key in order to be certain it will not start accidentally while you
are working.
l
Block the wheels with chocks if you want to work under the machine.
