2 Safety
2.1 Safety Measures
Your Anderson bagger has been designed so as to minimize hazards for operators. Nevertheless,
you should never use it for any purpose other than that for which it was designed. Using the bagger
incorrectly may injure the operator.
The bagger has a hydraulic system and moving mechanical parts. All these elements may cause
serious and even deadly injuries to people and livestock. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that
you carefully read all the following advice.
2.1.1 Operator Qualities and Skills
Familiarize yourself with the operating procedures before operating your Anderson bagger. Also,
insist that everyone who uses your bagger follow these procedures. Ensure that all bagger
operators:
l
Are responsible people;
l
Have received the necessary training for safely operating the bagger;
l
Are familiar with emergency telephone numbers;
l
Are familiar with the location of your first aid kit.
2.1.2 Use
Only use the bagger to crush and bag corn or other cereal. Avoid all other uses, such as transporting
objects, people or livestock.
2.1.3 Safety Perimeter
Do not become distracted while installing or operating the bagger. When you operate the bagger,
you must be the only person close to the machine.
A 15 ft (5 meters) security perimeter around
the machine in use must be respected. Keep
all people other than the operator, particularly
children and domestic animals, away from the
bagging site. Failure to do so may cause
serious, and even deadly, injuries.
