Reversing the joystick mount angle from 35° back to 0°
a)
Using cutters, cut and remove B00051 tie (B) as shown in image G.
b)
To change the angle from 35° to 0°, (Orange arrow, image F) slide arm all the way up the vertical rod as shown
in image F. Refer to
the “
Joystick Adjustment
”
section of
the Owner’s Manual for more details on angle
adjustment.
c)
For a dual post armrest (Image G), use a 4 mm Allen key to loosen both screws underneath the armrest (C). For
cantilever or reclining armrests, loosen the handle (Image F). Using cutters, cut and remove both B00051 ties (A)
to retract the cable toward the backrest. Leave the appropriate length of cable as shown in the circles on the
right side of image F, depending on if a keypad is installed or not. Add an extra 1 inch of cable to allow the
joystick to swing away freely.
d)
Once the distance between the joystick and the armrest has been set, tighten screws (C) on the dual post
armrest or tighten handle on cantilever or reclining armrests. Route the cable along the horizontal rod as shown
in the circle on the left side of images F and G.
e)
Attach cable on horizontal rod with two B00051 ties (A).
f)
Excess cable should be secured in the back of the chair. Refer to previous sections 1 and 2 to recoil and attach
the excess cable this change has created.
WARNING: The slack in the cable to allow the joystick to swing away freely, should not exceed 1 inch. Do not
let any cable stick out from the wheelchair or form a loop that could catch on external objects when moving
around in the chair. This could cause
severe damage in the wheelchair’s components or power supply
.
