2.1.7. Hand signals
• Signals given by an assistant operator if the driver cannot
see the travelling or working area or machine work devices.
• The following principles must be observed:
- Only a limited number of signals must be used for com-
munication purposes.
- The signals must be easily distinguishable to prevent
confusion.
- Hand signals can only be used in case the environmental
conditions support clear communication between per-
sons.
- Hand signals must be as similar as possible to intuitive
movements.
- One-hand signals can be given by any hand.
