Hydraulic bottle jack
IMPORTANT!
Please read this instructions carefully before using your jack. Proper
use and care of the jack will be helpful to assure you of continuous
safe trouble-free problems.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
• Never overload the jack! Exceeding the load limit can be
dangerous to the person operating the lift and the vehicle being
lifted.
• Make sure jack is in good working condition before each use
• Use the jack only to raise the vehicle, and secure the vehicle with
additional jacks once the proper height has been reached.
• It is not allowed to work with the car on the jack itself!
• The product is designed for use on a hard surface, use on other
surfaces will result in loss of stability.
• Do not use the jack for lifting people.
• Always lock vehicle wheels and apply parking brake.
• Use only lifting points indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.
• Do not change the setting of the safety valve.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. When this jack leaves the factory for shipment. The vent plug on
top of the oil chamber is closed to prevent the oil from being
spilled. Also the oil chamber contains the right amount of oil
before shipment. Before using for the first time, remove cover
plate, unscrew vent plug until there is 1/16” gap. If oil spill is evi-
dent. Or if vent plug was found open. It is necessary to check oil
level before pumping.
2. With release valve open, pump handle about 6 full strokes to as-
sure complete distribution of oil.
3. Close release valve, and jack is ready to use.
4. ALWAYS CENTRE THE LOAD ON SADDLE OF JACK. Off-centre
loads and loads lifted while jack Is not sitting level may damage
the jack.
BEFORE USING THE JACK:
During shipment or handling, air in jack can become trapped in the
hydraulic system causing jack to malfunction. To release air from
the hydraulic system:
1. Turn release valve counter-clockwise with handle no more than
two full turns.
2. Remove oil fill plug.
3. Pump jack handle quickly in several full strokes.
4. Repeat above steps as needed. Remember to replace oil fill plug
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE JACK:
TO RAISE:
1. With one end of jack handle, CLOSE RELEASE VALVE TIGHTLY by
turning it clockwise.
2. Place vehicle in PARK (in gear on standard transmissions) and
apply emergency brake.
3. Place jack under vehicle at proper lifting location. (Refer to ve-
hicle Owner’s Manual). If needed, turn extension screw on jack
counter clockwise until it comes in contact with vehicle.
4. Insert jack handle into handle socket. PUMP THE HANDLE (oper-
ate it up and down) to lift vehicle to desired heights.
TO LOWER
1. Remove handle use small end to SLOWLY open release valve. (To
open turn SLOWLY In counter clockwise direction).
2. When vehicle fully lowered, remove jack. If extension screw has
been extended, turn it clockwise until it retracts enough to re-
move form vehicle
3. When jack has been removed from vehicle, close release valve
for storage.
GENERAL CARE OF YOUR JACK:
1. When jack is not in use lifting arm and pump lever should be in
full down position. This will protect precision machined surfaces
of the ram and the piston from corrosion.
2. Container is filled with 7fl.oz of hydraulic jack oil. For best results,
always use a good grade when adding or replacing oil. Avoid
mixing types of oil. Do not use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerine, de-
tergent motor oil, or dirty oil. In proper fluid can cause serious
internal. Damage to the jack, Esso brand (or equivalent) SAE 10
hydraulic oil is recommended in jacks with hydraulic system.
3. Keep your jack clean and well lubricated, as well as the outside
moving parts such as the lifting arm spindle, wheel bearings and
cross head pin.
4. Should any other parts be required, please refer to the sectional
drawings and quote appropriate part number, along with the se-
rial number of the jack when ordering.
5. ADDING OIL: with arm fully lowered and jack on level ground,
remove oil fil plug. Add oil if level is more than ½” below hole
replace cover plate.
6. REPLACING OIL: Oil should be replaced at least once every year.
To drain oil remove cover plate. Oil filler plug and release valve.
Be VERY CAREFUL to not allow dirt or any foreign matter into the
system.
7. LUBRICATION: Put grease in fitting on base and lubricate lifting
arm spindle with oil, every 3 months.
8. RUST PREVENTION: Clean and wipe with an oily cloth, the piston
ram and pump piston every 3months or when signs of rust or
corrosion appear. When not in use, always leave the saddle and
pump piston in the completely down position.
TROUBLE SHOOTING:
1. Jack will not lower completely
Air in hydraulic system / Purge air from hydraulic system
Release valve stuck / Transfer weight load and clean valve
2. Jack will not lower weight
Release valve in open position / Close release valve tightly
3. Jack will not lift to full height
Oil level low / Fill to recommended level
Air in hydraulic system / Purge air from hydraulic system
4. Weak lifting
Air in hydraulic system / Purge air from hydraulic system
Dirty oil / Change oil Use SAE 5W
Release valve not completely closed / Close release valve tightly.
5. Jack will not lift load
Excessive weight / Decrease weight or change to higher capacity
jack
Release valve In open position / Turn valve clockwise and tighten
Oil level low / Fill to recommended level
