Reprogramming from System Boot, Continued
Sequence of Operation
The following table lists the sequence of operation and the expected
behavior of the AMIFlash Code.
Step
Expected behavior
1 Look for
floppy disk.
The system beeps one time
before the BIOS attempts to
read from floppy drive A:.
2 Look for
S707P.ROM on
the floppy
disk.
S707P.ROM must be in the root
directory of the floppy disk
in drive A:. There is no beep
if successful.
3 Read the
floppy disk.
The floppy disk is read. There
is no beep if this step is
successful.
4 Check for
BIOS file
size.
The BIOS file size is checked.
There is no beep if this step
is successful.
5 Check for
Flash EPROM.
The BIOS looks for an Intel
i28F001BX-T Flash EPROM. It
does not beep if this step is
successful.
6 Erase the
Flash EPROM.
Two beeps sound when the BIOS
begins erasing the Flash
EPROM.
7 Program the
Flash EPROM.
Three beeps sound when the
AMIFlash Code begins
reprogramming the Flash EPROM.
8 Continue
programming
the Flash
EPROM.
Four beeps sound when
reprogramming has been
successfully completed.
9 AMIFlash
does a reset.
A CPU reset is generated (the
system reboots).
10 Reboot
Reboot the system.
