Description
IDE Master/Slave
PIO
Not available for Offboard Primary and
Offboard Secondary IDE Controller.
The IDE PIO (Programmed I/O) mode is a
standard for information storage and retrieval.
In general, higher modes provided better
performance than lower modes. The PIO mode
for all IDE drives is set at the factory and
cannot be changed. You must choose the
proper PIO mode or your IDE drive will not work
and may be damaged. If you choose Auto,
AMIBIOS will automatically select the correct
IDE PIO mode.

Permit AMIBIOS to determine
the optimal
IDE mode supported by the IDE drive
installed as the primary IDE master
drive
(Default).
Mode 0
Specify IDE mode 0.
Mode 1
Specify IDE mode 1.
Mode 2
Specify IDE mode 2.
Mode 3
Specify IDE mode 3.
Mode 4
Specify IDE mode 4.
Offboard PCI/ISA
IDE
Use this option if you want to use an IDE
controller card installed in an ISA or PCI
expansion slot. The settings are
Absent, ISA,
Slot 1,
or
Slot 2
. The default setting is
Absent.
If ISA is selected the Offboard
Primary/Secondary IDE option becomes
available.
Onboard IDE
Burst Mode
The settings are N/A.
