Configuration
Before Configuring
Before beginning the configuration process, ensure that the APM4AM-
SAT WS, wireless transmitter, radio and other equipment are installed
properly and powered on.
Universal Configuration Tool
Use the Universal Configuration Tool (UCT) to select a unit, configure
the controller clock and battery, set a transmission schedule, and
configure channels.
UCT Software Overview
You can start the Universal Configuration Tool (UCT) software by
double-clicking the Bullhorn program icon on your computer desktop, or
click
Start > Programs > American Innovations > Configuration
Toolkit
. When the software begins to initialize, a window displays with
the message “Connecting to unit” as the software continues to scan and
detect each unit that is connected to your computer. When this process
completes, either the
Find Devices
window (Figure 2-5) or the main
configuration window (Figure 2-1) appears.

MPORTANT
:
After selecting a unit, the configuration software begins to
initialize. A status bar at the bottom of the main configuration window
displays the progress of the initialization process. If the battery voltage is
too low for normal operations, the status bar will freeze and the
initialization process will not continue. You will need to either recharge or
replace the battery before continuing the configuration process.
