PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The 1689B Receiver is used with matrix switching systems to
control pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris and auxiliary functions at a
camera site. This receiver is classified as an eight-channel
type since eight independent control channels are supplied.
The 1689B will control, depending on factory configuration,
eight (8) cameras with no auxiliaries, four (4) cameras with
four (4) auxiliaries, or eight (8) auxiliaries. The output voltages
are set for 24 VAC.
Receivers obtain control instructions via the common code
lines originating from system CPUs, the system input bays, or
intervening code distribution units. To enable each receiver to
identify those control signals intended for it, each receiver
must be set up at installation to identify the camera number(s)
with which it is to be associated.
This Installation Manual includes the following OP00xx
inserts which provide wiring assignment tables related to the
product.

FEATURES
Pan/Tilt and Lens Control
As delivered, each channel of the receiver provides drive
outputs at 24 VAC for control of Pan/Tilt motors and at 10
VDC output for lens control. Eight of the 12-pin connectors,
located on the printed circuit board (PCB) within the unit,
contain all the connections required for control of the Pan/Tilt
and lens.
Note: Certain Pan/Tilt units require alternate voltages
other than those noted in this manual. If necessary, call the
Technical Support Department for information or
assistance (1-800-442-2225).

NOTE 1: Total of all 24 V Pan/Tilt motor currents and
Auxiliary currents (all channels combined) is not to exceed 7
Amps.
Auxiliaries
If configured for auxiliary operation, the receiver provides four
or eight output channels of auxiliaries for user-controlled
devices. Each channel assigned as auxiliary can have two
latching and two momentary outputs.
Preset Scene
This optional feature allows the operator to preselect a scene
and recall the scene upon keyboard command. (If this option
is provided, the model number will include a suffix of "P".)
The programmed scene is stored at the receiver with battery
backup in the event of a power failure.
When controlled by the 1600 or 1700 system, the receiver
allows eight preset scenes per camera to be programmed.
When controlled by the 1650, 1900, 2050 or 2150 system, the
receiver allows 72 preset scenes per camera to be programmed.
Refer to the installation and operation manuals for the
appropriate control system for the programming procedures.
