        Editing Phrases

To edit phrases you can use the included IR Remote or an 

optional keyboard with PS/2 connection.
Phrases “rd.01”- “rd.10” are factory programmed phrases. 

You are able to edit over these with prhases of your own. 

You are able to store up to 15 phrases with each phrase 

containing up to 30 characters only. “rd.01” - “rd.15” are 

the storage ares for each phrase.

Note: It is easier to create phrases when the LED Mes-
senger is pointed at a smooth surface within a comfort-
able distance, so that you can clearly see what text you are 
entering.

Creating a phrase using the included IR Remote -

1. Press the SELECT PROG button, and then the UP or DOWN 
buttons until “Pr.01” is displayed. 
2. Press the SELECT PROG button again, so that rd.XX is 
displayed. XX will represet the current phrase number that is 
displayed, 01-15.
3. Scroll to your desired phrase location, “rd.01”-”rd.15”, by 
pressing either the UP or DOWN buttons. Once your have 
found your desired phrase location press the EDIT button. 

Note: If there is a phrase already stored in the current loca-
tion you have chosen, once you press the EDIT button that 
phrase will be erased. You can always restore the factory 
phrases (“rd.01”-”rd.10”) by pressing and holding the EDIT 
button for 3 seconds, and then pressing 1, 6, 8, 1, 6, 8. This 
restore function will not erase the phrases you have stored 
in “rd.11”-”rd.15”.

Note: In these next instructions look to the surface you 

are aiming the LED Messenger at.

 “Edit word” will appear 

briefly, and then four individual dotted lines will appear. Each 
line is designated for a character. After each character is added 
wait 2-3 seconds for the cursor to move the next dotted line.

        Editing Phrases

5. Enter your phrase as if you were texting using a cell phone. 

(Example: press the “2” button twice to add the letter “b” 
to your phrase, press the “5” button three times to add the 
letter “l” to your phrase, etc...)

The “1” button acts as a shift key, press it once to switch to 
capital letters or press it again to switch to lower case letters.
6. If you make a mistake in your phrase you can press the 
BACK SPACE button to delete the last character added. If 
you need to make a space in between words use the SPACE 
button.
7. After you have finished creating your full phrase press the 
ENTER button to to confirm and store the phrase into memory.
Once you have pressed ENTER your phrase will begin to scroll.

Creating a phrase using a keyboard with PS/2 Con-
nection -

Note: When using a keyboard to edit, please disconnect 
any DMX Controller connected to the LED Messenger.

Creating a phrase using a keyboard with PS/2 connection is 
much easier then using the IR Remote. With the keyboard you 
can type and not have to wait 2-3 seconds for the cursor to 
jump to the next character line. 
Before you begin to create a phrase using a keyboard you must 
find your desired location, “rd.01”-”rd.15”, via on board control.
1. Press the MODE button, until “Pr.01” is displayed. Press the 
MODE button again so that “rd.XX” is displayed. XX will repre-
set the current phrase number that is displayed, 01-15.
2. Scroll to your desired phrase number, “rd.01”-”rd.15”, by
