BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
Hearing Aid Batteries Are Dangerous If Swallowed -
Keep out of the reach of children or anyone who may accidentally
swallow them. Never put batteries in your mouth for any reason.
Do not store batteries in pill containers where they may be
mistaken for medication and swallowed. Use batteries
recommended by your hearing care professional. Batteries of low
quality may leak and cause bodily harm. Never attempt to
recharge your batteries. They may explode and cause serious
injury. Do not expose your batteries to heat, such as an open
flame, microwave, or oven. There is a risk that they will explode
and cause serious injury. Please discard old batteries in a safe
place.
Visit http://www.poison.org/prevent/battery.asp to learn more
important information about battery safety.
If a battery or hearing instrument is swallowed, see a doctor
immediately and call the National Poison Center, 202-625-3333.
TUBING & BATTERIES
REMOVAL:
Grasp the connector
firmly.
Do not pull the tubing itself,
as it can become stretched and
distorted.
Insert finger nails into
the finger nail grooves. Pull
straight out. DO NOT TWIST.
ATTACHMENT:
Align the tube
plug (tubing facing down) with
the opening. Apply gentle
pressure until the plug starts
into the socket. Push firmly
until the plug clicks into place.
A zinc-air type 13 battery is recommended,
but any type 13 brand may be used. To
insert, remove the adhesive label and wait
thirty seconds for air activation. Any
moisture on the battery surface should be
wiped off. With the positive side up, insert
into the battery door. It may take several
minutes for the battery to work to its full
effect. To remove, open the battery door and
lift the battery out of the battery door.
Low battery indicator: When your battery is low and in need of
replacement you will hear the low battery voice prompt. The
prompt will be repeated until the battery is changed.
INSERTING HEARING AIDS
Inserting your hearing instruments for the first time
can be challenging. Until your hearing aid is fully
inserted there can be feedback (whistle). We
suggest that you practice without the battery until
you have perfected this procedure. With practice,
inserting your hearing aids will become as easy as
putting on your glasses.
1. Grasp hearing aid between your thumb and
forefinger.
2. Place it over your ear as shown.
3. Gently push the ear tip into the ear canal.
4. Tuck the concha lock into the bowl of your ear.
When positioned correctly the SIE 96 hearing aid is
practically invisible.
Note: It is important to remove the instrument
by grasping the instrument itself. Please do
NOT remove the instrument by pulling the
tubing, as it can become stretched and
distorted and may void the warranty.
WIRELESS CAPABILITY
1. During audio streaming, the hearing aid rocker switches are
disabled. To adjust the audio volume during streaming, use the up
and down volume control buttons on the streamer rather than the
hearing aids.
2. To terminate audio streaming, streaming needs to be stopped
from the audio source. When streaming has ended, the hearing
aids will automatically return to program 1.
3. If the relay is streaming and temporarily moved out of range
(beyond about 1m) from the hearing aids, the hearing aids will wait
for a few seconds, and if the relay moves back into range of the
hearing aid, streaming will automatically resume. However, if the
relay is moved out of range for an extended period of time,
streaming is ended and the hearing aids revert to program 1.
4. Refer to the “Relay User Guide” for more information on
wireless function.
