2.  Overview 

This section describes the functions of the cable modem’ LEDs and connectors. 
When the 

Power

DS

US

, and 

Online

 LEDs are lit, the cable modem is online and ready to send 

and receive traffic.  The 

Link

 LED should also be lit if there is data traffic. The Tel 1 and Tel 2 

LEDs should be lit if there is voice traffic. 

Cable Modem Front LEDs 

LED Status

The modem is powered by AC. 

POWER 

Blinking The modem is powered by battery. 

On 

Downstream is normal. 

Blinking The modem is scanning D/S channel. 

DS 

Off 

1.  The modem is powered by battery. 
2.  The modem does not start D/S 

scanning yet.

Upstream is normal. 

Blinking The modem is ranging U/S channel. 

US 

Off 

1.  The modem is powered by battery. 
2.  The modem does not start U/S 

scanning yet.

The modem registered CMTS.

1.  The modem is powered by battery. 
2.  The modem did not register 

CMTS.

The modem and PC are connected.

1.  The modem is powered by battery. 
2.  PC and modem are not connected. 

Tel 1 

On 

Tel port#1 is available for VOIP 
service.
